Local history is becoming a popular pastime; as Long
Island becomes fully developed, more people, concerned
with the changing landscape, are delving into their
community’s past. The Images of America Series
is especially good at presenting the histories of various
communities through their photographic
collections. Captions are detailed and informative.
For those interested in local history, or for those
just wondering about a particular building or place,
as they drive by on their daily rounds, these books
make superb gifts. Available at SPLIA gallery, for price
listed after each book.

of care which are designed to avoid creating problems.
