For those owners of historic houses who want to be informed before they hire contractors, and for those undertaking restoration work themselves, this book provides useful instructions with helpful illustrations for tackling any problem. The emphasis in this book is on prevention. It includes storage, handling and care advice for objects of every description likely to be found in a personal collection. The book contains checklists applicable to papers, scrapbooks, photographs, videotape and film, paintings (including advice on matting and framing), furniture, clocks and watches,ceramics and glass, silver and jewelry, and musical instruments. Blue Point Remembered,

Like the Arcadia books, this book presents Blue Point’s history through photographs
but also includes comprehensive text based on various documentary sources such as
maps, census records, and newspaper articles. Although the book covers all of Blue Point’s history from prior to European settlement to the 1930s, it is especially detailed in the period from the 1890s to the 1930s, providing a fascinating view of small town life on Long Island before World War II.
